Anne et Valentin was created in September 1980 when Valentin, who had recently obtained his optician’s degree, met Anne. The two lovers inspired one another, and created and designed together through till Valentin’s death in 2003.

Anne et Valentin was born out of their optical store, with the belief that every person deserves an eyewear that reflected their individuality and an expression of their personality.

Drawing inspiration from fashion shows, art exhibitions, museums, vintage furniture, jewellery and clothing stores specialising in works from the 50s and 60s, Valentin and Anne became design students who prided in craftsmanship, immersing themselves in the creation of eyewear that had never been seen before, “Noble and radical eyewear in which you are delighted to be yourself.”

Anne et Valentin’s design philosophy remains pure to its humble beginnings. They champion values of energy, vitality and freshness. Their goal is to create collections that “have flash without being garish or gaudy, and timeless chic without being predictable.”

Anne et Valentin collections are handcrafted in Jura France and using Japanese titanium.
